David Hynes is an associate at the Carter Law Group. Mr. Hynes was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. While at Penn, Mr. Hynes worked as a research assistance at the Wharton School of Business and was a founding father and treasurer of Phi Gamma Delta. After a year employed in IT support at the University Of Pennsylvania Law School, Mr. Hynes was accepted by Tulane University School of Law with a scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude in 2013.

David is an avid world traveler and scuba diver. A few of his favorite cities include Copenhagen, Barcelona, Bangkok, and of course New Orleans. He is also a technophile, has built computers from scratch, and tries to stay up on all current technology trends.

At Tulane, Mr. Hynes was a member of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal and published in their Winter 2012 volume. He was elected as the Technology Chair to the Student Bar Association his third year of law school. Furthermore, Mr. Hynes served as both Treasurer and Technology Chairman for the Tulane Energy and Environmental Law Society’s annual environmental law summits.

His legal experience includes environmental law, trucking and transportation and maritime law. While interning for legal environmental nonprofit organizations, Mr. Hynes presented his findings regarding international ramifications of oil drilling in the Aegean Sea at the 2011 Green Justice Symposium in Athens. Mr. Hynes has successfully represented insurance companies, achieving favorable settlements, dismissals, and coverage dispute results.

He is an active member of Defense Research Institute (DRI) and currently serves as the DRI Webpage Chair. His other professional memberships include the Federal Bar Association, the Claims Litigation Management Alliance, the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, and Louisiana State Bar Association. Mr. Hynes is admitted to all Louisiana State Courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. His practice includes defense of personal injury, litigation, insurance defense, general liability, environmental and commercial litigation.
